What is
an MBA?
A Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a degree in business
designed for students who have complete their undergraduate,
bachelor’s (baccalaureate) degree. The full-time MBA
is available for international as well as US domestic students.
Who should
consider an MBA from CAU?
An MBA is the premier credential for those who wish to advance
in their current or future professional positions, manage
their own organizations, or begin their won firm. Most students
entering the MBA program at CAU have completed a bachelor’s
degree in business or a related field. Students with other
backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
How long
is the program?
The full-time MBA is designed to be completed in as few as
15 intensive months of study for students who have completed
a bachelor’s degree in business or a closely related
field. The MBA at CAU is a complete, but accelerated, MBA.
Most MBAs require 2 years (4 terms) of study. At CAU, we compress
a term of study into 10 weeks, and 5 full terms are scheduled
within one year.
Is the
Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) always required?
CAU reserves the right to request scores for the GMAT. However,
if an applicant’s academic background is strong, especially
in quantitative areas (mathematics, economics, accounting,
engineering, etc.), the GMAT is often waived.
When does
the program begin?
There are 4 entry points per year: Fall; Winter; Spring; and
Summer. Regardless of when a student begins the MBA, it can
be completed in as few as 15 months.
What classes
are offered in the MBA?
The program of study includes 15 core courses. Core classes
include: Operations Management, Legal & Ethical Decisions,
Organizational Behavior and Development, Project Management,
Global Marketing Management, Financial Analysis and Strategies,
Information Management for Leaders, Human Resource Development,
Economics for Managerial Decision-Making, International Business
Strategy and Planning, Change & Innovation in Organizations,
Risk and Conflict Management, Organizational Leadership, Current
Trends in Business Environment, Strategic Planning and Management.
Is it possible
to have a major or concentration in my MBA?
Several emphasis areas are available. These include: Finance,
Marketing, Hospitality, International Business, and Management.
Is work
experience required?
Work experience is preferred but not always required. It depends
upon applicants’ backgrounds.
Where is
CAU?
CAU is located in the heart of Southern California, about
miles east of downtown Los Angeles and one mile north of Interstate
Highway #10. the central location of the school makes I convenient
to all modes of public transportation and virtually all educational,
library, civic, and entertainment centers in Southern California.
The climate of Southern California is near perfect and the
region is widely regarded as being among the finest in the
world.
What are
the classes like?
Using a combination of lecture, discussion, individual and
group projects, research components, in-class activities,
and more, MBA classes at CAU are highly interactive, extremely
demanding, and thoroughly challenging.
How can
I pay for the program?
There is no financial assistance for MBA students at CAU.
All domestic and international students pay full tuition.
The tuition has to be paid 3 weeks ahead before each quarter
starts.
Who is
eligible to apply?
Students who have completed undergraduate (bachelor’s)
degrees are eligible to apply.
